Hi, my name is George. I would like to say I have a nickname, but I don't. I can't even think of any that you could give a guy named George. It's a bit like the name Bruce innit? So, you can call my George. I'm a friendly sort, but ADHD makes it pretty difficult to stay focused so sometimes I forget about online friends for a little bit. Feel free to reach out to me if you need someone to talk to though. I'll get back to you the moment I see the comment/message.

I live in Maungaturoto, New Zealand which is a beautiful rural town in the Kaipara district here in Northland. Even though I love the quiet, I do enjoy heading into the towns of Whangarei and Auckland for second hand clothing and vintage items. I collect old vintage photos and photo frames to cover my walls at home. As a full time photographer and business owner I have a huge passion for old photos and even old artwork. I actually use all the art and photos in my photography as I have a wall covered in vintage photos, frames and old skulls and collected knick knacks. In front of it sits a dark red, antique couch and I take photos of people sitting on the couch.

As someone who was born female and has transitioned to a male (ftm/f2m) I am an avid trans rights supportor and activist. For me this support encompasses the rest of the LGBTQIA+ community/family, people of colour, folk with disabilties, mental health issues, health issues and are on the spectrum (ADHD included). However, I also support anyone who needs it no matter your religion or preferances. As long as you're a good hearted person and not a bully, bigot or racist I will support you if and when you need me. This is a safe space for anyone who needs it.

I'm here as a reviewer, mostly, as you know, but I do a lot of other things in my life as well (I have a lot of hobbies and skills) - often all at once (or multiple things at once, at least). I do art sometimes, both digital and traditional (with paint/pencil and paper/canvas) and really enjoy going to art galleries and museums to look at other peoples art. My art is stored here, and you're welcome to follow me even though it's not updated as much as this blog will be. But if you're just here for the reviews then it's really not importamt. I also, like I mentioned, run my own business and I am a photographer at Neonmime Photography in Northland, New Zealand. I love taking photos even though I don't always have the energy to.

Unfortunately, I have a lot of health issues. Invisible illnesses that leave me exhausted and bed ridden for weeks (occassionally months) on end. But, this is why I have so many hobbies, I like to fill my time creatively. That's where books come into it, honestly. When I spend a lot of time in bed, I like to disappear into a pile of books, often jumping from physical copies to ebooks and then to audio books and back. There's nothing better than experiencing other peoples stories.

Which brings me to writing. I've been writing since I was eight years old and I read "Master Wolf" of the GREYHAWK ADVENTURES written by Rose Estes. I had grabbed it from my dad's bookshelf and fell in love with the art inside and the story. I was soon writing my own stories in the same way and by the time I was fourteen years old I had hand written three 3000 page books that will never be publish, but the itch to write never left. So between writing a book series, I'm happily reading and reviewing other author's brilliant books. Anything I can get my hands on, I'm going to try and read. This is where I talk about how I approach books and their reviews.

I honestly get my books from anywhere I can. I'm constantly buying new and second hand books from both offline and online sources. I love getting Adanced Readers Copys (ARCs) from both NetGalley and BookSirens alike. I take pride in reading and reviewing, seeking to improve my approach to both exciting activities. I post reviews on Amazon when I buy on Amazon (usually kindle books). I also post my reviews on Goodreads, but the full length review will always be here, on my blog. I then share this review on my Twitter account and on my Instagram if I'm recommending it. Occassionally I will post videos of me reading from small, short parts from whatever book I'm reading at the time.
